Well, it is not surprising to see Deveny reduced to shopping centre reviews, and even less surprising to see that her attempted comedic dribble has fewer laughs than Schindler's List. I suppose this is what made The Wedge & the aptly named Skithouse such successful Australian comedies. (Sydney Morning Herald -- Opinion)

Almost as if you're watching Ben Kingsley in Schindler's List, but it's the brutal demonic Ben Kingsley out of Sexy Beast, and he's clubbing Amon Goeth around the chops with a baseball bat. Inglourious Basterds is the war movie the world really needed: an outrageous fairytale that shows a very different outcome to Hitler's final solution, and at the end of the film we all came out of that cinema beaming and feisty, those teenage boys pumped with pride, the middle-aged dads clench-jawed with... Broadway melodramatics break 'Irena's Vow'  Mar 30, 2009
By Elysa Gardner, USA TODAY NEW YORK There is at least one reason to be grateful that Irena's Vow (* * out of four) has arrived on Broadway: After this production, it's doubtful that anyone will be itching to produce a stage adaptation of Schindler's List. Like Steven Spielberg's Oscar-winning film, Dan Gordon's new play is based on the true story of a non-Jew who assumed great risk to protect Jews during the Holocaust. (USA Today -- Life)

A gag about competition between cinematographers Mantle, who shot The Celebration and 28 Days Later, had just won best cinematography for Slumdog now that's what I call community humour.
