It's Western Australia versus Victoria and, in a rare acting role, the great playwright David Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the film in collaboration with Peter Weir, plays a lanky Victorian ruckman whom the West Australians can't budge. It was a great scene, combining Australia's brave digger spirit with our carefree love of sport and, in particular, our home-grown game Australian rules. (Sydney Morning Herald -- Business)

At the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival, National Geographic Entertainment is presenting a period piece set in 1930's China titled "City of Life and Death. " The company also distributes Palestinian American drama "Amreeka" and will produce "The Way Back," a historical drama about Siberian exiles directed by Peter Weir ("Picnic at Hanging Rock," "Witness," "Master and Commander"). Prior has been a favorite of directors like David Fincher, Michael Bay, Peter Weir, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg and Guillermo del Toro, generating special footage on the DVD releases of their films.
