Presnell was cast alongside Liberace and the British rock group Herman's Hermits in 1965's "When the Boys Meet the Girls", and with Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood in "Paint Your Wagon" in 1969. Prior to production, Paramount Pictures had obtained a copy of the script, objecting to the opening sequence which they felt was lifted from their 1969 musical western Paint Your Wagon. A copyright infringement suit was subsequently avoided when James Garner's attorney informed Paramount that the questionable scenes came from the 1852 book, Recollections of the California Mines by James H.
