Viewers might not feel at home in unfamiliar 'House'  Sep 21, 2009
And then there are the mental patients sharing his space, who were apparently recruited from a road company of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It's hard to say what's worse, the stock collection of problems they exhibit or the near-miraculous way a few of them are cured after, of course, House has made a few of their problems worse in ways that violate his doctor's oath. (USA Today -- Life)

But most everything rings false, from House's interactions with his fellow patients (imported, it seems, from some stock company of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) to the very idea that a prosperous doctor would be held captive in this snake pit. Watch for Laurie and Braugher alone, and expect better when the show settles into its normal pattern next week. (USA Today -- Life)

    The Citizen's Cinema  Aug 12, 2009
" Since they push my Blu-ray library past 10, both titles will be referenced often as I reflect on my movie player upgrade (I also have a couple dozen Netflix Blu-ray viewings to draw upon in this discussion).I'm still somewhat undecided whether the technical superiority of Blu-ray justifies the process of switching from DVD. There are certainly palpable enhancements to the viewing experience, and the sonic bombast of action sequences makes movies with more "kicksplode" like "The Dark Knight"... (Auburn Citizen, NY)

A lot of the people we meet in Chelsea on the Rocks qualify as marginalised - an old woman who screams whenever anyone gets near; a sidewalk artist who makes a living selling paintings of the hotel to tourists - but their stories fascinate Ferrara as much as the ones told by celebrities such as Hawke, who speaks candidly about moving into the hotel during the dissolution of his marriage to actress Uma Thurman, or director Forman (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Amadeus), who relates wild...
