House of Sand and Fog (2003): Vadim Perelman's atmospheric film about a Northern California real estate dispute has so much fog that audiences start wondering why anybody would want to live here. The Lady From Shanghai (1948): Orson Welles shot half of this film on location, and most of the exteriors are foggy, befitting a film about a protagonist (Welles) who has no idea what's going on for most of the movie.
