Three Rivers Film Festival books movies with buzz Oct 9, 2009
In addition to well-known performers Steve Guttenberg, Rondell Sheridan, Richard Kind, Bill Nunn and Sabrina Bryan of "The Cheetah Girls," it stars local actors such as Godse (whose day job is as a Pittsburgh physician), Adrienne Wehr, Patrick Jordan and Dave Petti. The festival will conclude Nov. 21 with a new print of 1929's "Man With a Movie Camera" and live accompaniment by Boston's Alloy Orchestra at the Regent Square Theater. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, PA)

I m a student of history, and when you look at the history of this country, when black people have rioted, it is not just random, it is the cops killing somebody, the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, the beating of Rodney King. During a heated argument about whether the pizzeria's wall of photos of Italian-Americans should include blacks because the shop is in the black neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Radio Raheem (Bill Nunn) blasts his giant boom box in Sal's face. Sal angrily tells Raheem to turn the music off, Raheem refuses, and in a shouting match Sal (who has spent the movie defending blacks against his racist son) uses the n-word against Raheem, smashing his radio with a baseball bat.
