Davis was a frumpy-looking woman, but she had those eyes and could she act, especially in "Jezebel," "Now Voyager" and later in "All About Eve.". Hepburn was virtually matchless in "The Lion in Winter" and stole every scene in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." Of course, Hepburn was, in most critics' opinions, comically brilliant in "Bringing Up Baby," "The Philadelphia Story" and "Holiday." I'm thinking of "Inside Man," "V for Vendetta," "Shattered Glass," "Training Day" and "Match Point" among fairly recent titles; and "Psycho," "Dinner at Eight," "To Be or Not to Be" (1942), "All About Eve" and "The Godfather" among the classics.
